Make 3 colors appear as 4

This work attempts to make 3 colors appearing as if there are 4 through a process of color exploration + composition. In each work, the colors and the work's resulting illusion were found by hand. The 3 colors used: #A7D9FF #B1FFB9 #E4DBD0

For fun, I worked on a series of Color Theory experiments. Inspired by, and as a tribute to color theorist Josef Albers.

At the time, Albers did not have the animation and computer tools that we have today to explore color interaction, so I tried giving it my best shot whilst having fun exploring color interaction. This series 'Color Theory' attempts to bring his theories alive using simple animations.

Each work in this series attempts to make X colors appear as X+1 colors (e.g. 5 colors appearing as if there are 6) through a process of color exploration + composition. In each work, the colors and the work's resulting illusion were found by hand.

All six of these works are listed on Foundation as NFTs and four of them have been sold.
