NextQuestion is a social Q&A app where users have public profiles and receive text questions which they can answer with voice recorded answers.

NextQuestion was created as a link-in-bio product for creators to engage authentically with their audience. Their fans are able to “DM” the creator, with a chance they would respond to their DM with an audio note, which any of their followers could then listen to.

From a design point of view, I focused heavily on making the experience feel conversational (using iMessage inspired chat bubbles as the main atomic unit in the app). Mechanically speaking, the focus was on ease to create (being able to ‘bounce’ good questions around the platform, and ease to consume (where the audio answers would be transcribed with animated text when played). This transcription component helped tremendously for growth when the component was shared on other social networks where video’s audio is off by default.

We partnered with a handful of comedians, and other creators to host their Q&As.
